Luann brought me a delightful modern quilt that she pieced from a pattern called Ginger Stalks. She said that it was quick and easy to piece. The prints are all vibrant colors and prints ... sort of a mix between a tropical vibe and Mexican pottery ... very colorful and cheerful. Since the backing fabric was a bright kelly green she opted for a bright green thread. This combined with the white-on-white pigment print, which let the green backing shadow through, gave a lot of texture. The panto she chose is called Banana Leaves and adds even more to the tropical look.
It's a great quilt and the high-loft polyester batting gives it a nice fluffy texture. I had a lot of fun with this one.
