Mo gave me her lovely flying geese quilt to work on before Christmas. She didn't want anything to distract from all of the geese so when I showed her some design options she loved the Chevron Wide and Narrow panto by Karlee Porter. What's so nice about it is that we placed it so that the chevrons were horizontal against all the vertical flying geese. In the end it gives a nice allover texture to the quilt which is going to look lovely on the bed.
Mo's backing is a pale peach print from Art Gallery designed by April Rhodes. It reminds me of a 1940s gown and has the softest, slick hand. I'm envisioning a pale peach satin accent pillow with a couple large grey flying geese to go on the bed. But then again while I'm quilting a client's quilt I come up with all sorts of stories for the quilt's life.
The batting is Quilter's Dream Cotton Deluxe, which is slightly heavier weight and gives nice texture to the quilting. Thread is Superior Threads So Fine 50 weight in the color Silver.
This last picture is of the light shining through the backing to let all the flying geese glow. I love that bit and hope that Mo enjoys many years with this beautiful quilt.
