The other day I had the pleasure of quilting a modern improv quilt with an Echino linen quilt backing. The top was made by Lynne in a workshop taught by Jacquie Gering of Tallgrass Prairie Studio. Lynne wanted a lot of texture so she chose the traditional Baptist Fan panto. Wow, that really gives a fantastic curvy feel to the improv log cabin blocks. And that backing is a surprise .. the bold and bright colors remind me of Ikea and the Scandinavian aesthetic. Thread is 50 weight So Fine by Superior Threads in the color snow. Batting is Warm & White cotton.
This is going to be fantastic after it's washed and crinkles up a little bit. I kept wanting to see the contrast of the linen back with the pieced cotton top. Very, very nice!
